Re: The groom seeing the bride before the wedding
JIMMY OLSEN: This can’t happen! It’s like the Hindenburg of disasters!
No, Jimmy, I’m pretty sure the Hindenburg is the Hindenburg of disasters.
BTW, Frank and I are of the opinion that this is the best season of Smallville in a long time. I’m 100% sure that it’s because whiny, fickle Lana is gone. Of course, we saw that she’s a special guest star in this Cloverfield episode (we’re watching it right now), so I expect this episode to be teh suck.

I’m not a big fan of Smallville - but maybe part of the reason it is better this year is that Lex is gone too.
I kind of like the guy that plays him - but the constant vacillation between “I’ll kill you!” and “How come you’re not my friend?” Between “Fear me - I’m a bad MF!” and “My daddy never loved me (sniffle).” was really wearing thin.
This also kept Clark stuck in endless loop of “Lex is evil and needs to be stopped.” to “Maybe I should have been a better friend to Lex.” to “That rotten Lex keeps trying to kill all my friends and family” to “Maybe he just needs more understanding - his dad really was a bastard”. It is long, long past time for Clark and Lex to both grow up and face the fact that one is a superhero and one is and archvillian and they are mortal enemies.
It’s like the writers feel compelled to make excuses for people being bad - they do it all the time not just with Lex. Isn’t it enough to give the villain a motive? Must he have some weepy story of abuse and misfortune too? Last I checked this was still a free country where people can just choose to be evil if they want to.
Why do I find Chloe so much more attractive than Lana? And I don’t mean personality-wise - that is obvious. I mean in a purely physical way.
On paper Lana is much hotter - the dark flawless skin, exotic features, perfect teeth, curvy (more than Chloe anyway) body. Chloe has beautiful eyes - but that is her only feature that I could pick out as being above average. Yet I find her much more desirable than Lana. This has me genuinely mystified.

I agree that “endless loop” was the appropriate phrase for Smallville up to the time I quit watching, a few years ago now. I hated to do it, but hated worse to keep watching after all that nonsensical Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon stuff … I’m glad you find it to be coming back up, because it really *ought* to be an awesome show, with the cast it’s got. I agree Lana was always the weakest link.

Chloe tends to smile wheras Lana always looks worried.
