I asked my husband, Sir Mugley, about halfway through the show if he thought Wolf was a bad guy after all. I just can’t figure out his motive. He got his job back.
Behind the scenes of the last episode, Caruso alluded to an idea of “freeing” up Caine to go after his nemesis. I believe that is what you saw.
Wolf was in on the “fake” assassination and the third one who was in on it was the message you saw on Wolf’s phone. Another CSI? Caine’s Ex-wife? Just not sure.
If I wouldn’t have seen a “behind the scenes” clip on Hulu, I would have just thought he was dead.
Ooh, cool. I never would have thought he was dead (you just can’t kill the Sunglasses of Justice), but I was not pleased that someone messed up H’s shades. :)

It’s a comic book. I’m pretty sure that Horatio will be one-lining in part two.
