Miss me?
Sorry, we were with family last night, so I didn’t get a chance to blog the rest of AI, nor DWTS women’s night. Don’t worry, it will be done (belatedly) tonight. I did FF all the way through the AI results show to see who went home. I was surprised about Amanda going home and about Carly being in the bottom three. So I watched Carly sing “Blackbird” afterward to see if she was bad, and she wasn’t. She wasn’t great, and her voice was straining when she went above about a b, but she was at least as good as Sleepy Lee Cook. But then we got to the chit-chat session with the judges, and *then* I got why she was in the bottom three. America doesn’t like whiners. She came to America and owns a business and then has the gall to say that she chose “Blackbird” because all the contestants are so beaten down from not being successful at music, and now they’re little blackbirds flying because they’re on American Idol. I swear, I thought she was going to break down crying for sympathy votes. Total backfire. Oh, and if she gets any more Irish, she’s going to grow shamrocks out of her butt. Seriously, you could barely hear the accent in her auditions, and now she’s Patty O’Irish.
Syesha in the top ten. This means I’ll have to endure her *and* Sleepy when I go to the tour concert. No, I’ve never gone to it before, but I’ve got two words, kiddos: Jason Castro. We’re going. I haven’t told Frank yet.

That’s exactly why I plan on going too! I told hubby last night we were going to the concert.
If you were still in Fl, we could go together and leave the men-folk at home!

My wife has informed me that we’re going. I can dig it. Amanda went because, ironically, she improved to the point where those meddlers at VFTW can’t prop her up anymore. Without them, she doesn’t have a large enough fan base to keep going on her own.
Agreed on Carly. Musically she wasn’t that bad, but she could have just said that she loved the song and wanted to try something slower.
PS - I left you a present at my blog. Don’t hate me.

Totally bummed about Amanda - was so nice to see someone who wasn’t stamped from the same exact mold. That tall girl with the half closed eyes - can’t remember her name but also can’t believe she made it through and Amanda didn’t. “musical wallpaper”

I don’t like Carly because she’s not an unknown, she had a record contract (and Randy was at the record company) and she’s not American. I don’t have a problem with foreigners, but this is “American” Idol. They have other versions of Idol for other countries.
And she’s kind of annoying. She acts like a giddy teenager when the judges say anything good about her. That would be acceptable if she WERE a giddy teenager, but she’s not.

i was touched by her sad story of working so hard, yet not selling a million copies of her failed record — boo-frickin’-hoo — i can’t stand that chick
