ALERT!
Wow, that was a lot of fakeouts at the beginning. They usually try to fake you out with one guy and make the sick person someone else, but this time we were faked out on one guy, the girl, the girl supposedly hallucinating, and then the building kind of just… exploded slowly. Gas main blew, I’m guessing. Frank thinks structural failure.
Well, the opening credits haven’t changed, so I’m guessing that means his team comes back… or they were too lazy to change the opening. It’s only been two weeks since his team left, and he has taken no cases and interviewed no people.
Yay, I win! I was right. Gas main. House is playing the guitar. He thinks the girl’s broken bones are a result of the roof collapsing on her head. But she has a high fever as well, and it’s responding to nothing. So House brings in a janitor to help him diagnose. He uses a floor buffer analogy to figure out what’s wrong. House translates the floor buffer’s potential issues to human functions. He rules out neurological (Foreman), considers parasites, infections, etc (Chase?), and then the janitor says, “Also, Lupus.” We cracked up. Because House always says it’s never Lupus. And Cameron always suggests autoimmunes and Lupus, being the immunologist. I’m always right there with her. House has the Janitor pretend to be a doctor. Haha.
House and Wilson break into the girl’s house (Janitor won’t do it for less than $50, and House is cheap), and the banter is so funny between House and Wilson. Wilson is cutting out things from a magazine. Later, House gets a ransom note for his guitar. He’ll get it back when House has interviewed candidates for the job.
This is so hilarious. We are laughing almost constantly. House v. Cuddy, House v. Wilson. House refusing to negotiate with the terrorist Wilson. “You know what happens when you don’t negotiate with terrorists? They terrorize.” “Bring. It. On.”
More terrorist notes, and House breaks into Wilson’s hotel room. Wilson sends House a piece of the guitar. Wilson taunts House. It’s beautifully done.
When the guy said they were planning to live together and have babies, I told Frank that would come up again. I was right. It’s the little details they throw in. The little details are always the big details. Know why? Otherwise the shows are too predictable for the masses.
Haha. House stole Wilson’s chemo patient.
Ouch. Mistaken identity. Well, at least the girl wasn’t lying to the boyfriend. This is like that real-life case with the blonde seventeen-year-old girls. One family is relieved, one family is devastated when the news comes. So sad.
“There’s a scent given off by wounded feral cats.” LOL.
Okay, maybe the team isn’t returning and they just tried to fake us out. Or, according to the previews, maybe they’re still going to be around?
Whatevs. Anyway, this was the best season premier yet.

I recorded Bones (forgot about House) so all I saw of it was the opening. The script may have said a gas main but buildings don’t shake before an explosion. Frank had the only intelligent “right” answer: building collapse.

Wilson was really funny in the guitar ransom scenes. I didn’t know he could do that. More Wilson, please.
I wish House would grow a mustache so I didn’t have to avert my eyes from his exagerated philtrum. ick.

All I can say is thank God House is back :) It’s the one TV show I will kill people for if they prevent me from watching. Agree with you that this was a great opener.
